Spatially Enabling Improved Decisions

BUYER-SUPPLIER MATCHING

Using federal and regional economic input/output information it is possible to identify goods and services that are required by current employers in a region. It is then possible to compare that demand for services or raw materials to the goods and services produced in the local area. Specific goods and services that are demanded by multiple firms that are not present in the region should be targeted for recruitment to fill the demand locally.

This process can be supplemented with an active existing industry program where interviews with local employers should include questions about out of region suppliers and judge any interest in seeking out potential local suppliers.
